SENIOR AUDITOR:

Our company is growing and looking for an Audit Senior to join our firm! Great opportunity for growth and responsibility.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead a variety of assigned assurance engagements or projects. Obtain an understanding of the client’s business and industry as well as working knowledge of the client’s system cycles and account balances. Organize, oversee and supervise assurance engagements, which may include a team of 1 to 4 staff auditors. Candidate should possess the ability to identify and review internal controls and to test adequacy of controls in place. Responsibilities include performing multiple engagements concurrently. Specific assignments include preparing work papers, trial balances, account reconciliations, confirmation procedures, verification of account balance and other relevant financial data, and engagement correspondence. Review client documentation and reconciliations for accuracy. Perform and oversee testing to ensure client compliance with requirements of federal grant agreements and with Uniform Guidance. Perform and oversee testing to ensure client compliance with Louisiana laws and regulations. Preparation of financial statements and related disclosures. Maintain a continuing knowledge base of accounting, audit, and tax. Strong analytical ability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must possess Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another specialized field
  • 150 hours of college credit, a CPA designation is preferred but not required
  • 4+ years of experience in a staff auditor capacity or its equivalent and current public accounting experience.
  • Limited overtime and great benefits, including vacation, 401k, medical and more.
  • Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
